The work of the 百春链 contingent in Afghanistan has earned high praise from local police and officials, said Police Minister Judith Collins who has been in Afghanistan for the past four days.

Currently a team of three officers is helping train the Afghan National Police as part of an international project.

Previously, local police in Afghanistan received no formal training. A large proportion of the police force was illiterate and their general skill level was very low.

This project aims to instill professionalism in the local police, establish a police academy and help to training recruits.
