Detectives investigate man?€?s death

1 min read

A team of Auckland City Police has this week been investigating the sudden death of a 29 year-old Korean man, found dead in his apartment building at about 8am on Monday, January 17.

Detective Inspector Bernie Hollewand says Dong Kun Seo was a resident on the 10th floor of the City Gardens Apartments on Albert St.

"He was found dead in the hallway near his apartment by other residents of the 10th floor. A post-mortem has been carried out, his next of kin have been notified and the Police role is to determine ?€¡° as best we can ?€¡° whether his death was in any way suspicious," Mr Hollewand said.

"We know he died of stab wounds to his upper body. We?€?ve spent most of this week taking statements from many of the residents of the apartments, conducting a thorough scene examination of the hallway and his apartment and locating his family and friends.

"We haven?€?t finished the scene examination and local inquiries so we?€?re not able to say yet whether his death was suspicious or not. We will continue with our investigation."

Mr Seo was a Korean born New Zealand resident who had lived in this country for nine years. He was self-employed restaurateur.
