Man died after fall

1 min read

A pathologist has advised Police investigating the death of a man whose body was found yesterday afternoon near the Metropolis Hotel in Auckland City, that he died as a result of a fall from a height.

Detective Senior Sergeant Julian Rinckes said the man was Asian and is believed to be in his 20s.

"We have had some suggestions about who he is and we?€?re making inquiries to confirm his identity so that we can advise next of kin of his death," Mr Rinckes said.

"It?€?s too early to tell whether or not this man?€?s death was suspicious, but our inquiries are continuing in order to establish the circumstances of his death."

Police hope to be able to release the dead man?€?s name in the next day or so. The pathologist said the man could have been lying dead where he was found, for up to a week, possibly even longer.
