At about 2:15 Sunday morning a Police?patrol in Masterton has attempted to pull over the driver of?a stolen Honda Civic. ?

The vehicle failed to stop for Police and although a pursuit was commenced it was abandoned almost immediately due to the dangerous driving of the fleeing driver through the CBD.?

A short time later Police witnessed the still speeding vehicle crash into a light-pole on Queen St.

All four occupants of the vehicle were transported to Masterton Hospital. ?

Two?of the occupants were seriously injured in the crash and have since passed away as a result of their injuries. ??

All occupants of the vehicle are believed to be from Wairarapa and are aged in their?mid teens.

A Wellington District Serious Crash Investigator has attended the scene of the crash and investigations are ongoing. ?The IPCA has also been informed.?
