Emergency services were called to a fatal house fire in Burden Grove, Wainuiomata at about 2am this morning.
The fire was limited to a single flat in a complex of six, was well involved upon the arrival of the fire crews and has been extensively damaged.
A search of the address once the fire was extinguished found an individual, ?whom is believed to be the sole elderly male occupant of the flat deceased. ?
Police and fire staff will be examining the scene this morning to determine the cause of the fire.
