Canterbury Police continue to investigate a home invasion incident that occurred overnight at a house near the Hanmer Springs township.

Several shots were fired at the house during the incident.?
?
While there were a number of people (adults and children) at the house at the time, fortunately nobody was injured by the shots fired. ?
?
A man at the house, aged in his 50s, was however assaulted and received a moderate head injury.
?
Police are conducting a scene examination at the house today and cordons will remain in place throughout the day.
?
The assault victim and his family are being supported by Police and Victim Support.
?
Police would like to hear from anyone who has seen a silver 2017 Nissan X-Trail, registration number KQU365, since around 10pm last night (similar to the car pictured).
?
