Waitakere Police are investigating the knife-point robbery of a woman on a Waitakere Falls walking track this morning.

The victim, aged in her thirties, was walking on the Upper Nihotupo Reservoir track at around 10.45am. She was around 5 minutes away from the car-park on Piha Road, when two men with their faces covered emerged from the bush.

One of the men had a knife and demanded money. The victim had no cash and the offenders took the woman’s jewellery; a necklace, rings, bracelet and watch.

The two men fled and the victim ran to the car-park and waved down a passing Police car. A search by the Police Eagle Helicopter, a dog unit and ground patrols did not locate the offenders.

The victim, who is also 5 months pregnant, was taken to hospital for a check-up and though shaken,? was not physically harmed.

The offenders are described as the following;
1.?????? A male Maori or Pacific Islander aged his late 20’s, with a solid/muscular build. He is described as wearing a black hoody, dark jeans with rips in the legs and dark-coloured sandshoes.

2.?????? A male Caucasian aged in his late 20’s, around 165cm tall, with a thin build. He is described as wearing a baggy red hoody, faded low-cut jeans and possibly brown sand shoes.

Police would like to speak with anyone who was in the Piha Road/Upper Nihotupo Reservoir area at the time and saw anyone fitting the description, or behaviour which appeared suspicious.
