A man was waiting in the emergency department to be treated for a minor injury when he allegedly assaulted the two victims with a weapon believed to be a large chisel.?

Hospital security detained the man until Police arrived and he was arrested.?

He will appear today in the Palmerston North District Court on two charges of wounding with intent.?
?
The victims were treated for their injuries and support was provided to them. As the matter is now before the court, no further comment can be made.
