Attribute to Superintendent Karyn Malthus, Auckland City District Commander:
Police have arrested and charged a 30-year-old male Police officer from Auckland City District.
The officer appeared today?in the Auckland District Court to face a charge of accessing a computer system for dishonest purposes.
The charge was made as the result of a Police self-initiated investigation process.
The officer has been stood down from duty and an employment investigation will follow in due course.
As the matter is before the courts, Police are unable to comment further.
