Police are attending a serious crash on Tarras-Cromwell Road, Bendigo, in Central Otago which occurred shortly after 3pm today.

It appears that a car rolled and caught on fire. Five people were able to escape the car but one person has been trapped in the vehicle.?

There is no information at this stage on any injuries. More information will be released as soon as it is available.

The road is closed while emergency services work at the scene. Diversions are in place at Dead Man’s Point and Bells Road.?

The Serious Crash Unit has been notified and will be investigating the cause of the crash.
