“ Police are investigating a serious crash just South of Taupo on Napier Taupo Highway.? Eastern District police, in Hawkes Bay are investigating an alleged serious incident from last night.? It involves the theft of a motor vehicle.? A vehicle of similar description was seen by Taupo Police this afternoon heading towards Taupo. A short pursuit commenced.? Due to fog conditions the pursuit was abandoned.? Police located the vehicle again and road spikes were deployed close to Taupo. As a result the vehicle has attempted to avoid the spikes and crashed.? 3 persons were cut from the vehicle by Fire.? 2 males have been taken to Waikato hospital in Hamilton and 1 female to Rotorua.? There conditions are described as serious.? Some next of kin have been advised by Police.”
