number of search warrants were executed in the Nelson area over the last couple of weeks, where Police recovered numerous items of stolen property, as well as two firearms and both class A and class C after being hit by a truck at Peketā this morning.</p> <p>Emergency services were called to the crash, between Inland Kaikōura Road and Rakanui Road, about 9.20am.</p> <p>The person was a pedestrian and died at the scene.</p> <p>Police are providing support to their next of kin.</p> <p>The Serious Crash Unit has conducted a scene examination and State Highway 1 reopened about 2.40pm.</p> road is expected to remain closed for some time and motorists are asked to take alternative routes where possible, or consider delaying travel.</p> <p>Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are Wednesday 21 May, Police were called to Konini Street after a report of a house fire.</p> <p>One person received serious injuries and were transported to hospital.</p> <p>Police are now appealing for appealing for information from the public.</p> <p>At around 12.10am on Wednesday 14 May, Police were notified of a house fire on Bright Street.</p> <p>A scene guard was put in place overnight and Police conducted a scene examination with a Fire and Emergency New Zealand fire investigator today.</p> <p>The house fire is being treated as suspicious at this stage.</p> <p>Police would like to hear
