Police are attending a fatal single vehicle crash in Northcote this evening.

The crash occurred just after 4.30pm, where a vehicle left Onewa Road and collided with a power pole on Seaview Avenue.

Despite medical assistance being provided at the scene, sadly we can confirm the sole occupant has died.

The Serious Crash Unit attended the scene and carried out an examination.

Enquiries will be carried out on behalf of the Coroner.

Man charged following alleged Paremoremo hit-and-run

A man has been charged following an alleged hit-and-run in Paremoremo yesterday morning, which left two people injured.

Emergency services were called to Attwood Road about 7.10am yesterday following a report of a white ute striking two pedestrians.

The vehicle then allegedly left the scene without stopping.

One woman sustained serious injuries and another moderate injuries and both were transported to hospital for treatment.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Williams, Waitematā CIB, says earlier today a person presented to North Shore Police Station.

Police are asking for the public’s help after a hit-and-run incident this morning that left two women and their dogs injured.

Emergency services were called to Attwood Road, Paremoremo, about 7.10am after a report of a white ute striking two pedestrians.

The vehicle then left the scene without stopping.

One woman sustained serious injuries and another moderate.

Both were transported to hospital for treatment.

Police are now working to identify the driver of the vehicle which struck the women.

Alleged scammer arrested following $150k in thefts

Police have arrested a man after he allegedly used Facebook Marketplace to fleece people of more than $150,000 worth of goods.

This morning officers from Waitematā West Tactical Crime Unit assisted by the Armed Offenders Squad, conducted a search warrant at a Massey address.

Detective Senior Sergeant Ryan Bunting says Police had been looking for the male who was wanted in relation to 17 dodgy deals between November 2024 and April this year.

Fatal Crash – Stillwater

A person has died following a crash yesterday evening in Stillwater, Auckland.

Two cars collided on East Coast Road just before 7pm.

Sadly one person has died at the scene. Another person suffered moderate injuries.

The Serious Crash Unit attended and an investigation is underway.

Our thoughts and sympathies are with the deceased person’s family at this extremely difficult time.

A man is facing at least 18 charges after a string of alleged offending across the North Shore area in recent months.

Waitematā East Police caught up with the man and he is custody until his next court date later in June.

Businesses and commuters have been the alleged targets of the man’s spree, including a defibrillator worth thousands of dollars from one Takapuna business.

Area Commander Inspector Stefan Sagar says staff have been piecing together a series of burglaries and shoplifting offences.

Update: Muriwai sudden death

Police can now provide a brief update into a sudden death in Muriwai earlier this morning.

A person's body was located after a car fire was reported on Jack Butt Lane.

Police can now advise enquiries are being made on behalf of the Coroner in this matter.

Police are in attendance at a car fire in Muriwai this morning.

Fire and Emergency advised Police of the fire on Jack Butt Lane at 8.34am.

The fire has been extinguished and a person’s body has been located next to the vehicle.

The immediate area has been cordoned off for a scene examination to be carried out.

Police will be carrying out enquiries into the circumstances of the fire.

As these enquiries are still in the very early stage, we are unable to comment further at this stage.

Fatal crash, State Highway 16

A man has died and four others are injured after a crash on State Highway 16, Pt Chevalier last night.

Police became aware of a car on its roof in the citybound lanes shortly after 11:05pm.

One person had been ejected from the vehicle and another was trapped inside it, who was found to be deceased.

Four people were taken to hospital, two in a serious condition and two in moderate condition.

The Serious Crash Unit attended the scene, and the motorway was reopened around 3:20am.
